Pastor Tucker comes from a strong Pentecostal heritage (Third generation Church of God). He began preaching at the age of 19 and has been in full-time ministry for almost 4 decades. He had a successful 10 year full time evangelistic ministry that took him into various states. Seven of those 10 years he was on the Western North Carolina State Evangelistic team. In 1993 he accepted the call to serve as Associate Pastor under his father. In 1997 he became Lead Pastor of The Praising Place Church of God. During his tenure the attendance and finances have both increased well over 500%.

In January 2013 The Praising Place purchased the Kimmerly Glen Shopping Center at 5268 North Sharon Amity Road. It is a 10 unit 58,000 square feet mall that has several Medical,Professional, and Retail Tenants. The 28,000 square foot worship facility accommodates 650 seats and has a state of the art lighting, audio and video Sanctuary, as well as an indoor playground and cafe. Their annex serves as the home of their Hispanic ministry.

Pastor Tucker has served on the Western North Carolina Evangelism and Home Missions Board, serving as Chairman for 2 years. He has served on the State Council. He is also a sought after preacher for camp meetings, crusades, and revivals. Pastor Tucker serves in ministry along with his wife Janice of over 3 decades who is an accomplished minister who teaches weekly and has preached in numerous ladies conferences. 

They have two sons Matthew and Brandon. Matthew is married to Debra and is an Ordained Bishop, student pastor, and praise and worship leader. They have 2 children, Alana and Matthew Jr. Brandon is married to Leatrice and he is also a minister as well as the college and career pastor and church drummer. They have a one child, Niko.

In his spare time Pastor Tucker enjoys spending time with his family and traveling.
